What are the benefits of Yixing Zisha tea pot?

Yixing tea pot absorbs a tiny amount of tea into the pot during brewing. After prolonged use, the pot will develop a coating that retains the flavour and colour of the tea, and even only clean water will get tea fragrance. It is a unique character of Yixing clay teapot and is concerned with the certain porosity of Yixing clay.

How to use the new tea pot?

Before first use, a process called a teapot opening is needed. Put teapot and lid separately into a boiler, add water and make the water level over the teapot, when the water is boiling, stay for 10-15 minutes.

Notes:

1.The Yixing tea pot is mainly used for making black and oolong teas, as well as aged puer tea. They can also be used for green or white tea, but the water must be allowed to cool to around 85 °C (185 °F) before pouring the water into the pot.

2.Before brewing, firstly flush the outer wall of the Yixing clay teapot with boiling water, then fill the teapot with tea, such a process is called teapot moistening.

3.Yixing clay teapot can be used for different kinds of tea, just pay attention to the water temperature requirement of different tea, it had better be only one type of tea for one teapot, so as not to corrupt the flavour that has been absorbed.

4.Please use clear water to wash away the dust on outer the surface of the teapot and the inner wall, be sure NOT use any detergent or disinfectant, otherwise, the natural coating will be cleared and the lustre lost.
