What is Silver Needle White Tea?

Silver needle white tea is also known as Bai Hao Yin Zhen tea, it is a type of white tea that is made of 100% tea buds. The tea is covered with downy white hairs and shaped like a needle, so it is called bai hao yin zhen (white hair silver needle).

Where did the silver needle come from?

There are two types of silver needle tea in oriarm tea shop, one is from Jinggu, Yunnan Province, which is also called Jinggu Da Baihao or Yunnan Silver needle tea, the other is from Fuding, Fujian province which is also called Fuding silver needle tea or Fujian Baihao Yinzhen.

Tea Garden

Yunnan silver needle tea comes from the ecological tea garden in Jinggu, Yunnan province, at an elevation of between 1500 and 2000 meters. This region is known worldwide for its convenient natural conditions and rich resources, with teas produced from this land being of the highest quality and processed under the careful management of the locally experienced Jinggu tea crafters. Yunnan silver needle tea is made from large-leaf tea tree species, this species can be grown up to several meters tall and has bold green leaves much larger than common varieties, and buds that are yellowish-green and coated with fuzz.

Fuding silver needle tea is from the ecological tea garden in Taimu Mountain area in Fuding, Fujian Province, at an elevation of between 600 and 900 meters, this area is 80% covered by natural forests. The weather here is warm and humid with abundant rainfall, and the tea plantation itself is always surrounded by a thin fog, which together creates the perfect conditions for tea bushes to accumulate a wide array of microminerals and other organic nutrients

6 steeps: rinse, 45s, 60s, 90s, 105s, 140s, 180s

Rinse time is around 5 seconds.
